Phase change material 37 can be used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to reduce energy consumption through free cooling. When free cooling is not available, waste heat can be stored in the PCM to manage peak power demand when temperatures exceed the power capacity of the exisiting HVAC system. It can also be used in temperature controlled packaging, to keep good at a safe temperature.
